Peace IV Celebrating Cultural Diversity Programme

The Celebrating Culture Diversity Programme is delivered through Arts and North Down Borough Council supported through supported by the EU’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB)

The project will explore diversity across communities and cultures. As a participant you will take part in a series of 10 workshops with study visits to consider local culture, identity and diversity. You will discover how culture influences everything we do and look at different cultural perspectives to build community connections.

The programme will deliver the following:

1. A launch event for the programme to encourage participation
2. Delivery of 10 facilitated workshops to 40 participants on strengthening networks, community awareness, reducing isolation and racism, good relations, cultural diversity and faiths
3. Organise site visits to local places of worship 
4. Visit the Chester Beatty Museum and the Irish Jewish Museum in Dublin
5. Produce and launch a booklet on the programme for distribution to local schools, community groups and places of worship
6. Develop a community exhibition on the final work and story of the programme
